Leech Lake is renown for it's size and large numbers of fish. A fisherman can expect to enjoy a great variety of sport fishing for Walleyes - Northern Pike - Muskie - Jumbo Perch - Crappie - Largemouth Bass - Bluegills and Rock Bass. The Seasons will change fish location and biting habits. We will share information, what has been biting and where with you. Our staff can clean package and stamp your fish for transportation or have it ready for your dinner. While you can have a limit of each species, it does not mean you can have a limit in the freezer and bring back fish for dinner. We respect and abide by all fish and game laws and practice sensible catch and release on brood stock. Jumbo Perch and pan fish are great sport, abundant and make a fine meal.

Ice out normally occurs in late April or early May, the fish have become active and spawning occurs with warming water temps. Walleye and Jumbo Perch are normally abundant in the Spring, May and June. While the fish are still here during Summer their location in the lake and biting habits change. Warmer water temps also mean the Big Fish Muskie and Northerns get hungry. Largemouth Bass fishing with spoons or plugs can be very successful in the morning and late afternoon. Fall fishing can be very exciting, peak time varies but usually starts early in September. Weather is such an important factor in fishing, while we can not guarantee nice weather we can guarantee there will be plenty of weather and water. Some of our guests prefer to enlist the aid of a fishing guide during the first days of their stay to "get on the fish." We can arrange for a guide to fit your needs. Many of the guides book early, we recommend you make advance reservation with them if you want a guide.

Summer time usually provides excitement for nice stringers of pan fish and large well fed trophy fish. Try your hand chasing down a trophy Muskie or wall hanging Northern Pike. Receive an award for Catch and Releasing a trophy size walleye. Casting often yields knee shaking memories of the Monster Muskie that came to the side of your boat for a stare down with you. Truly a memory that will last and grow in size for generations.
